《紐時》發行人透露白宮主動邀會面　當面奉勸特朗普勿當記者「人民公敵」

美國總統特朗普昨日於twitter透露，早前在白宮與《紐約時報》發行人蘇茲貝格（A.G. Sulzberger）舉行了「良好而有趣的會談」，花上很多時間討論傳媒報道假新聞的問題，以及假新聞如何產生等。蘇茲貝格其後表示，是次會面由白宮提出，特朗普的助理更曾要求別公開，但既然特朗普已公開兩人會晤的消息，故決定公開評論。

《紐約時報》過往亦曾被特朗普批評報道假新聞。蘇茲貝格稱，與特朗普會面期間，一度提醒他以「人民公敵」（Enemy of the People）形容記者，措辭具「煽動性」，而且會令記者所受的威脅增加，導致暴力事件發生，其言論破壞美國的民主理想，侵蝕美國對言論及新聞自由的承諾，而且對國家危險而有害，希望他就對傳媒的廣泛攻擊作出反思。

Sulzberger recalled telling Trump that newspapers had begun posting armed guards outside their offices because of a rise in threats against journalists. The president, he said, expressed surprise that they did not already have armed guards. https://t.co/Qh2iY0v35C
